Vision and Values
As a Church of England School, we work closely with our local church communities, including Emmanuel Church and All Saints with Holy Trinity. We also maintain valued links with New Springs City Church and Elim Church, strengthening our Christian foundations and community spirit.
Daily Worship
Worship is a central part of life in our school. Every day, children take part in an act of worship, either as a whole school gathering or within smaller key stage or class groups. These times of reflection and celebration help nurture our pupils’ spiritual growth and understanding of Christian values.
Religious Education
Religious Education (RE) is taught by all class teachers and follows the Leicestershire guidelines. Our curriculum provides a balanced and inclusive approach:
-
Children learn about the Christian faith within a non-denominational framework.
-
They also explore the beliefs, stories, and practices of other world religions, developing respect and understanding for different cultures.
Parental Rights
In accordance with the Education Reform Act, parents have the right to withdraw their child from Religious Education lessons and collective worship (assemblies) if they wish.
Our Mission Statement
Together in God's grace may we give our children the roots to grow and the wings to fly.
We believe that we are all special to God and uniquely made in his image. With high expectations of children's achievements, we will strive to ensure that all our pupils know they are valued and that they aspire to be the very best that they can be.
Christian worship and values, alongside excellent teaching, will provide our pupils with secure roots and foundations to enable them to aim high and fly!
Children will be given the 'roots to grow' through our school Christian values:
Forgiveness: 'Just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you must also forgive others.' Colossians 3:13
Respect: 'Do to others as you would have them do to you.' Matthew 7:12
Perseverance: 'I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.' Philippians 4:13
Peace: 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace and good will toward men.' Luke 2:14
Compassion:'When Jesus saw the crowd his heart was filled with compassion, because they were like sheep without a shepherd.' Mark 6:34
Justice: 'Learn to do right. Seek justice.' Isaiah 1:17
With the 'wings to fly' our children will be able to:
- Flourish and succeed at school, and have high aspirations for themselves
- Have confidence and resilience to face challenges, explore the world, think for themselves and make informed choices
- Play a positive role in a diverse and inclusive community
We believe spirituality is lived out in many different ways. Our children share their own thoughts and experiences in this short video. Find out what spirituality means to our pupils by watching below:
We want all children at Loughborough Church of England Primary School to do their best in all areas of the curriculum in a caring, supportive and comfortable learning environment.
As a Church school, we believe that our school environment should reflect our commitment to Christian values. We are an inclusive school and children will receive the best possible start to their education at Loughborough Church of England Primary School. We welcome all parents as partners and will foster positive home school links. We aim to enable pupils to become independent and self-motivated learners.
